I just got a new Starmobile Engage 7+ Android tablet. I've been tinkering with it for 2 days already, and I'm quite impressed with what this little robot can do. But first, I was curious about the hardware, so I searched for an app that would tell me about this information. Of course, you can just visit their product website, but being a technical person, I wanted more detailed information. This blog post is all about that wanting for more detailed information.
As you would know, installing apps on an Android tablet usually goes through the Google Play service. I fired up Google Play from the Engage7+ tablet by touching the app icon on the lower right:
Since this is a device I recently acquired, Google Play asked me for a Google account to sign in with their services.
As soon as Google Play loaded up, I searched for "hardware info". Before installing the first app result, I read some reviews. I need to be careful what kind of apps I'll be installing anytime. I don't want to be installing some crappy software with viruses or spam bundled in.
It turned out that this Android Hardware Info app is quite popular, so I chose to install it. Then voila, I got all the detailed information I wanted.
